Agave montana is a slow growing succulent variety that develops the form of a perfect rosette of patterned leaves. The broad, fleshy leaves are bordered by reddish teeth and brown spines and it never offsets/pups, staying solitary its whole life-span. A hardy, low-maintenance variety that requires very little maintenance and is drought tolerant.

Agave montana prefers full sun and well-draining soil. It displays remarkable drought tolerance and thrives in hot, dry climates. Watering should be infrequent, allowing the soil to dry out completely. One of the most beautiful larger Agave species.
