This Madagascar Palm thrives in full sun and requires abundant sunlight to support its growth and health. Position the plant in an area where it can receive direct sunlight for most of the day.
During the active growth phase, Pachypodiums need generous watering to rapidly store enough water. Since their natural environment often experiences short rainy seasons, they must quickly replenish their water reserves. For beginners, finding the proper watering schedule can be challenging. Unlike cacti, Pachypodiums shouldn't be too dry during their active growth. A helpful tip is to ensure the soil isn't completely dry during this period.
Pachypodium baronii thrives in dry, well-drained, sandy soil. This variety will benefit from an application of an All Purpose, Slow-Release fertiliser every 9-12 months.
