Ferocactus wislizeni crave full sunlight for 4 to 6 hours daily. Conversely, insufficient sunlight can lead to weak growth and minimal blooming.
As a desert cactus, Ferocactus wislizeni can tolerate periods without water. Water the cactus thoroughly during its active growth season (spring and summer), saturating the soil. Allow the soil to dry out to prevent root rot caused by waterlogged conditions.
Ferocactus wislizeni will benefit from an application of an All Purpose, Slow Release fertiliser every 9-12 months.
You can grow Feocactus wislizeni in warm climates directly in the ground. For containers, ensure well-draining soil rich in nutrients.
