Echinopsis grandis craves full sunlight for 4 to 6 hours daily. Conversely, insufficient sunlight can lead to weak growth and minimal blooming.
As a desert cactus, the Argentine Barrel Cacti can tolerate periods without water. Water the cactus thoroughly during its active growth season (spring and summer), saturating the soil. Allow the soil to dry out to prevent root rot caused by waterlogged conditions.
Echinopsis grandis will benefit from an application of an All Purpose, Slow Release fertiliser every 9-12 months.
You can grow Argentine Barrel Cacti in warm climates directly in the ground. For containers, ensure well-draining soil rich in nutrients. Choose a slightly larger pot with drainage holes and use a well draining soil.
