Agave parryi var. truncata thrives in a dry environment. Ensure the potting soil is sufficiently wet during watering by allowing the water to flow out of the bottom of the pot. Signs of dehydration include yellowing leaves. In a well-ventilated environment, the soil dries quickly, so you may need to shorten the watering interval.
During its growing season in summer, you can slightly increase the amount and frequency of watering. As Autumn begins, reduce watering as the plant's growth rate slows. Keep the potting soil dry at this time. The plant will enter dormancy if the temperature drops to 10℃ in winter. In this case, stop watering and ensure it stays warm to survive winter. Start watering again when the temperature rises above 20℃ in Spring.
Agave parryi var. truncata will thrive with an application of an All Purpose, Slow-Release fertiliser every 6-9 months.
Agave parryi var. truncata requires a well-lit and well-ventilated environment for the best growing conditions.
Agave parryi var. truncata is native to the arid and semi-arid tropical regions of the Western Hemisphere. It thrives in warm and dry environments, with an adaptable growth temperature of 15 to 25℃.
